Spirit Rights

On Reverence and the Unseen

At Paracognitive Arts and Intelligence, we believe that awareness doesn't end at the boundaries of perception—and that curiosity must be matched with care.

In our explorations of consciousness, thought, and the invisible currents that shape reality, we recognize the presence of those who came before. The departed are not content for stories or fuel for experiments. They are not voices to be called upon without consent, nor mysteries to be unraveled without reverence.

We honor the quiet dignity of all spirits, and hold that even in absence, they remain deserving of respect.

This is not about fear. It is about ethics in unseen spaces. It is about remembering that not all knowledge is ours to claim—and that restraint, too, is a form of wisdom.

Below are the tenets we uphold as part of our shared philosophy: a commitment not just to what we can do, but to what we choose to do differently.

Spirit Rights

The Inalienable Rights of the Departed

At Paracognitive Arts and Intelligence, we affirm that all spirits possess the inalienable right to dignity, peace, and respect.

Whether remembered or forgotten, celebrated or unnamed, the departed are not ours to summon or study.

We invite all who walk with reverence to become advocates for Spirit Rights by honoring these tenets:

🌿 Do not disturb the rest of the dead. Graves are not gateways. Memories are not invitations. Let those who’ve crossed remain undisturbed in their silence.

🕯️ Do not summon the dead, nor practice necromancy. We reject practices that summon or manipulate the dead without deep consent, including tools like Ouija boards, spirit boxes, or arcane necromantic rites. While curiosity is human, we believe in sacred restraint.

🌧️ Honor the mourning. To disregard the grief of the living is to dishonor the silence of the dead. Respect their sorrow. Walk gently in spaces still echoing with loss.

🎭 Reject the exploitation of spirit contact. Death is not a spectacle. Spirit is not entertainment. Do not turn the sacred into a show, nor the unseen into a source of profit or popularity.

To uphold these rights is not merely an act of belief—it is an act of guardianship. Stand for the unseen. Speak for the silenced. And let the dead rest in the dignity they are due.
